Most people underestimate breathing—but it controls how your body moves, stabilizes, and performs. Proper breathing + bracing affects:
💪 Spinal Stability – Protect your back during lifts and squats
🔥 Core Activation – Brace efficiently to generate strength and power
⚡ Movement Efficiency – Better control, range of motion, and energy transfer
🧘 Nervous System Control – Calm stress and improve focus
Muscles That Make It Happen:
Diaphragm – drives deep breathing and pressure regulation
Core & Pelvic Floor – work with the diaphragm to brace your torso
Intercostals & Accessory Muscles – expand the chest and assist deep breaths

Deep diaphragmatic breathing Positions:
Lying on your back: Learn diaphragmatic expansion
Seated tall posture: Engage core & pelvic floor
Hands & knees (quadruped): Combine mobility with breath awareness
Deep squat with support: Hold a pole or sturdy surface, take deep breaths focusing on expanding your back, keeping your spine tall
Mini Daily Challenge:
1️⃣ Sit or lie comfortably, one hand on belly, one on the chest
2️⃣ Inhale through your nose (Tongue to roof of mouth) for 4 seconds, feeling your belly, sides and back expand, all the way up into the chest.
3️⃣ Hold breath for 4 seconds
4️⃣ Exhale slowly – Feel the ribcage lower & Deep core muscle contract (4 seconds)
Repeat for 2-5minutes

Bracing positions:
Proper breathing and bracing are essential for safe, efficient movement. Your diaphragm, core, and pelvic floor work together to stabilize your spine, transfer force, and prevent energy leaks. Without bracing, even strong muscles can’t perform optimally.
Functional Exercises to Practice Bracing:
Deadbugs: Focus on keeping your core engaged while moving arms and legs, coordinating your breath with each movement.
Bear Holds: Maintain a stable torso while breathing deeply, resisting collapse or arching in your spine.
Plank Variations: Engage core and pelvic floor, exhale under tension to maintain stability.
Pro tip: Focus on driving the rib cage and lower stomach down, with each breath out
